Encouraging Diversity and Acceptance in Magic

At Vanishing Inc. Magic we recognize that there exists a history of racism within the magic community and in our culture generally. We recognize that changes must be made to increase diversity and acceptance. We are listening. We are learning. And we are committed to helping. Here's what we're doing today:

We will donate all proceeds from purchases made on Friday June 5^th at Vanishing Inc. Magic to causes that benefit black communities. We’ve chosen to focus these efforts in two places:

WITHIN THE MAGIC COMMUNITY: The College of Magic, Cape Town, South Africa
THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE: NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People)

Half of the funds we raise will go to the College of Magic, specifically earmarked to help young, disadvantaged, black magicians who lack internet access. Helping them gain internet access will allow them to continue their online magic lessons. These funds will also help them procure necessary props, data plans, and private tuition to learn magic and life skills. We're grateful to partner again with the College of Magic in Capetown, South Africa, for this worthy cause.

The other half of the funds we raise will go to the NAACP to support their efforts to fight the systematic racism and police brutality that has plagued our nation for too long.

For those who would like to donate to these causes further, during the checkout process you can make a donation of any size to our non-profit, the Vanishing Inc. Magic Fund, and all proceeds on June 5^th will be donated equally to these two worthy causes.

Progress is impossible without change, and at Vanishing Inc., we're committed to helping change the landscape of our community. This isn't just our stance today. It starts today and we will do our best to continue to promote diversity inside and outside of magic.
