Thank you Vanishing inc! What a gem this program is. At 72 years old I have been a combat medic, Master Stained Glass Craftsman, Product Photographer, and Graphic artist. I have learned something about art and craftsmanship over the years that the physical skills must be supplemented with something more....something intangible. Now at 72, with arthritic hands, I have started to study magic. As with anyone with a new endeavor I have ordered lots and lots of stuff. And after ordering lots of stuff I learned that the method to most tricks is maybe 10% of the trick. The other 90% is in this documentary and books such as Josuha Jay's "How Magicians Think" among many others. The presentation is so much more important than the trick itself. That is the secret to good magic that I have learned.

I love this movie, but I have to ask--and pardon me for demonstrating my ignorance--am I the only viewer who wonders why Ricky Jay does not appear? Or Jeff McBride? (And I think Lawrence Hass has a brilliant definition of magic...I kept expecting him to be asked.)

It's a shame this won't run on broadcast TV--give people the opportunity to see a thoughtful, intelligent discussion of magic. Of course, the average attention span being what it is...
