Schrödinger’s Cards
By Vanishing Inc. - Saturday, April 5, 2025
For this year's April Fools Day, we launched a new "product"! To avoid confusion, we took the "product" off the store but have included it below for your entertainment pleasure!
"At first I was like, ‘What?!’ Then I was like, ‘No way!’ Then I was like, ‘Wait… no. For real???’ And then I was like, ‘What?!’ again."—Andy (The Jerx)
Vanishing Inc. is delighted to announce the release of the long-anticipated “Schrödinger’s Cards”. They’re everything, but they’re also nothing.
When “Schrödinger’s Cards” are in the tuck box, they exist in a state of quantum superposition until observed. When the deck remains sealed in the specially-designed quantum-isolation case, each card exists as all possible cards simultaneously. Only when a card is selected and observed does it “collapse” into a specific card.

The unique quantum-entagled ink used on the cards, combined with a proprietary particle acceleration system is what makes this magic happen.
The deck comes with some incredible routines to perform with this deck, including:
“Ambitious Particle”
A quantum twist on the classic Ambitious Card routine. In this routine, a “particle” (the chosen card) defies all known laws of physics and keeps reappearing at the top of the deck, no matter how many times it’s buried. The magician explains that the card is “quantum entangled” with the top of the deck, making it impossible to separate them. There’s no sleight of hand, and no skill needed as this special deck of cards simply alters the state of the top card!
“Wave-Deck Duality”
Inspired by the “Oil and Water” plot, this routine uses cards representing waves and particles that mysteriously separate and recombine. The magician explains that just like light can behave as both a wave and a particle, these cards keep switching between states until they finally collapse into one unified stack. You can do this with one hand, if you so choose.
“Teleportation Matrix”
A quantum spin on the Matrix plot (where coins or cards teleport under objects). In this version, four cards representing “quantum particles” teleport invisibly across space to gather under a single card. The magician attributes this to quantum tunneling, claiming the particles bypass physical barriers entirely. As a kicker, all the card backs change color at the end.
“Quantum Triumph”
A clever take on the Triumph plot, where shuffled face-up and face-down cards magically right themselves except for the chosen card. Here, the magician explains that the deck exists in a state of superposition (both shuffled and unshuffled) until observed, at which point it collapses into perfect order—except for one “anomalous particle,” the spectator’s chosen card.
“Schrödinger’s Cards” also comes with a companion app (iOS only, sorry Android users) that measures quantum fluctuations and also tracks Andi Gladwin’s location. There is a $29.99 subscription fee to use this.
If you’re looking for hard-hitting, angle-proof, easy-to-do card magic, “Schrödinger’s Cards” is worthy of your consideration.
“The packaging is exquisite, as you’d expect from Vanishing Inc. The large box in which the trick arrived is beautiful and my cat has been playing in it ever since (I think - I can sometime hear purring from inside but I’m reluctant to open the lid).”—Guy Hollingworth
Note: this effect can only be performed in The Large Hadron Collider. A small price to pay for such a great effect.
Note #2: You can perform this effect with gloves on! In fact, you must perform this effect with gloves on.
