Just before he headed over to America for his breakfast lectures at The Genii Bash, Ian took some time out to chat with me about all things Edinburgh Fringe.

He's performed 28 consecutive years at the Fringe, and get this. He's always made money. There are very few, in fact zero, magicians that can say that.

Enjoy the wit and wisdom of Ian Kendall.

The Edinburgh Fringe is the largest arts festival in the world. It takes place over three and a half weeks in August, where about 3500 different shows are put on in every conceivable genre and format. Serious theatre rubs shoulders with stand up, kids shows and spoken word. Pantomime with music and dance. There's something for everyone, which is a good thing since pretty much everyone turns up at some point.

The Fringe can be a daunting prospect for new performers, but over the years I've tried to help as many people as I can to sidestep the usual pitfalls.

Hope that helps :)
