Denis Behr is, undisputedly, one of the finest thinkers with a pack of cards in the world of magic. He burst onto the scene with online videos that had to be seen to be believed. And now we have two of his pet effects EXCLUSIVELY for download, both included for the price of one. At a time when card tricks are looking more and more like exhibitions, we thought it would feel great to be fooled—to be blown away by clever thinking and natural handling. With that in mind, please watch the trailer above.
Another Trick for Allen Kennedy is a gorgeous pseudo-center routine, in which you legitimately distribute four Aces, widely-separated, into the pack, and then deal them to yourself in a five-handed game. What’s fascinating here is that the method Behr (and collaborator Pit Hartling) have devised is different from the standard methods in this trick, and that allows for some moments that will astound everyone, including you.
Plop looks like it's using a stooge. We can assure you, it is not. To prove it, we used live footage from his knockout, exclusive lecture at our convention, THE SESSION, last year. It goes like this: as you shuffle a pack you ask someone for their birth month, say October (or “Ten”). You hand the pack to the spectator, who places it in the box. You press on the box and four cards penetrate…the four Tens. This uses a memorized deck, but the system employed has applications far beyond “Plop,” and this just might become your pet trick.
Running time: 17 minutes, 26 seconds.
