Magic download (video) by Luke Jermay (12.00)

This download is exciting to us because it shows mentalist Luke Jermay in an entirely new way: as a card expert. Luke is widely considered one of the finest thinkers in mentalism. Few realize what an accomplished card technician Luke is, and that is on full display in "Gambler's Exercise". He has the definitive work on one of the most beautiful card plots in magic, Alex Elmsley's "Diamond Cut Diamond." What Jermay has added to this trick will fool you, and you will be delighted by the method. Jermay proves that he is not only one of the most forward-thinking mentalists in the industry, but that he also has a devious mind for powerful card magic.

Here's what happens: all the Diamonds are removed from the pack and a card is chosen. Then all the Diamond cards are VERY convincingly shuffled, and yet Luke is able to deal out all the Diamonds, IN ORDER, from the pack. Better still, there is a very surprising transposition with the selected card. You will be delighted by the construction, routining, and how all the pieces fit together so perfectly. "Diamond Cut Diamond" is a trick worthy of study, and what Luke has added make this classic even more amazing.

  •  Your spectators require no gambling knowledge to enjoy
  •  The deck is legitimately shuffled by the spectator
  •  The selection is a free choice
  •  This routine gives you the ultimate finish, revealing every single card in order
  •  Two versions taught

Running Time: 35 minutes

This is wonderful and great. Usually we know Luke Jermay as a Mentalist but his card skills are just as astounding. This products prompts me to look into his other releases regarding card magic. Definitely recommended for any card magic fans!

This is an awesome gabling trick! It is engaging, fun to perform, and can get killer reactions. The benefit of this gambling routine is that it can be adjusted for a gambling or non-gambling audience depending on the situation.
This trick will definitely require a bit of practice but nothing is too difficult and all the moves that are needed here will definitely be used in other tricks so its worth the effort.
So if you are looking for a new gambling routine then add this to your repertoire.

The effect itself is awesome! I usually find gambling themed routines to be a bit boring, but this has a nice plot, since the card selection gives it a twist.
Besides that, Luke provides and additional follow up ending and points to other alternatives by taking advantage on specific conditions on the end of the effect. There is also a pinch on theory that is applicable to any magic presentation.

There is so much in this explanation of 'The Gambler's Exercise. With an alternative ending fully explained, as well as other options suggested. Every part of the trick is explained, not just how it is done, but why, and the psychology behind it. This is strong because nothing is wasted and every part has a purpose this is in that perfect effect realm.

This is Truly Wonderful.

I’m worried this has fallen to the side for folks cuz mentalists don’t usually like gambling demos, and card magicians who do like them, probably don’t normally look at Luke Jermay products.

This is brilliant thinking to card magic. There’s lots of moves, but it’s still a clean & efficient effect and method. It’s a wonderful mini-study on effect construction. Don’t pass this up!

very nice gambling demonstration.
Not exactly a self working card trick.
you have to know to do a little sleight of hand
but, as said in the video, the hardest one does not have to be perfect.
and the impact on the audience really deserves to work on that routine

One of the finest gambling demonstrations, sometimes gambling routines are confusing for laypeople but with Gambler’s Exercise you can perform it for people that don’t have any knowledge about gambling and still entertain them. Luke did a great job teaching this, the plot is great, the magic is direct and powerful! Is a bit advanced but nothing out of this world. Get this download! 10/10

Well, all I can tell you if that it requires some hand-skills.
It is not so easy to perform if you are not an expert.

The effect is great!
The video and sound quality are great.
The guy is a genius, incredibly skilled.

But the teaching...
The whole thing seems to be such in a rush. Luke speaks super fast, and gives his explanations like if you already knew how everything was to be done. For example he passes 30 seconds explaining how his special shuffle is done, with his hand covering the move in front of a pretty poor camera angle... And it's such a key point into the routine!
I'm sorry I guess I'm not an expert on false shuffles, even though I know some and I knew a variant of this one, I had to watch it 10 times and pause every 2 seconds while taking written notes in order to make sure I get through it correctly.
Other parts were quite rushed too, but there was extensive recap on the most simple stuff. I've seen better instruction videos, even from Luke. I don't know, I don't get it...

By the way, the mention ''The deck is legitimately shuffled by the spectator'' in the description is a bit misleading. As you can see from the trailer, the spectator does not shuffle the whole deck, but only a part of it, the part that doesn't contain the diamonds. Not quite what I would call a legitimately shuffled deck...

This is a not so good review, mostly on the teaching, not the effect.
