Building Blocks

"It broke my eyeballs! Only few effects in magic have a significant style that you can name the creator immediately. Building Blocks is the perfect example how fiction hardens into reality! It's so Calen! Love it!" Tobias Dostal

Calen has a talent for creating things that are so surreal and so visual, that they're hard to describe.

Building Blocks is a perfect example.

In short, make your audience's brain create the card, before it really exists.

You begin by showing three cards. On the faces, they seem to be normal Queens. But the backs have strange shapes, abstract designs, and pieces of images. However, when you show them together, it almost is like your brain starts to fill in the blanks, constructing borders & edges, assembling something from almost nothing.

Slowly but surely, it starts to look like a card. It feels real.

And then, almost instantly, it becomes real. The card appears, no cover, no fishy moves. It just is there.

Building Blocks is a rare type of trick. You're making their perception become reality. You can even give them the card, as a memento of what they've just experienced.
