Apart from being a magician, David Regal makes his living as a writer for TV series. He is an expert in his field, and this really shows through in his magic.
Regal's presentations are original, captivating and funny. He's also a natural when it comes to structuring the magic to maximize the effect. He has a certain way of "hooking" the spectators just at the right moments, be it with patter or technique.
These books then; they mainly cover card magic, but you will also find cups and balls, rings and matches, and even batteries! Needless to say, there is something for everybody within the pages of these two books.
I'd say that these two volumes (and all of Regal's material, really), show that presentation does so much for your magic. You don't have to spend your time on difficult technique, when you can just learn to speak properly instead.
(With that said, practicing difficult technique is still fun, and should not be abandoned!)
I've always been a big fan of David Regal, and I am sure you will be too after reading these two great books.
