Dr. Schwartz's Rising Floating Card Dr. Schwartz's Rising Floating Card Dr. Schwartz's Rising Floating Card

A card rises out of the deck and then keeps on rising right into mid-air with this innovative new idea from Dr. Martin Schwartz.

"Dr. Schwartz's Rising Floating Card" is an amazing new take on the "Rising Card" concept. Everything happens inside of an examinable inverted glass. You can even walk away as the card floats out of the deck into space.

  • No threads
  • No loops
  • No weights
  • No springs
  • No zombie gimmick

Two ungimmicked glasses and a deck of cards are presented to the audience to examine and shuffle. A card is then selected and lost back in the deck which is placed inside the card box sitting in one of the glasses. The other glass is inverted to trap the deck inside.

The selected card then begins to slowly rise from the deck. It keeps going until it floats completely out of the deck and into the empty space of the inverted glass, impossibly hovering in mid-air. This is an ingenious illusion that will amaze you every time you perform it.

Comes with special gimmicks, two glasses, and video instructions.

I received this today & it is pretty cool. I'm not sure if it would fly for a close-up performance - it may be more suitable for small parlor & may not fool modern audiences. But it does look cool.

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Alex asks: What happens after the card floats? Can I lift the top glass and put the card back in the deck in front of the spectators?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: You can’t place the card back into the deck, you could remove the card and hide it however it wouldn’t go into the deck
  • Matthew asks: Must those glasses be used, or could I use alternative glasses?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: The glasses are ungimmicked. But the width of them is important and the design of them helps hide the method. So you *could* use alternate glasses, but it's recommended to use the ones you get.
  • Timothy asks: Is this a gimmick that will last the tests of time?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It's mechanical, and should last a very, very long time if treated properly.
  • Richard asks: Suitable for close-up? Noise? Angles? Gimmickry visible from close up?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Fine for formal close up, the angles are more than acceptable, around 120 degrees. You'd just need to be able to control where people are.
  • Anthony asks: Can you post a video with spectacular in a real life situation

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: We can only share the videos provided to us when it is an item we don't manufacture. In this case, the trailer you see is the only video provided. Sorry about that.
  • Richard asks: How is the card selected? Is it a free choice?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It's not a free choice.
  • Larry asks: I have had a couple of Dr Schwartz card rise effects does this use the same principle/gimmick Thanks

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Impossible to answer without knowing what products you are referring to I'm afraid.
  • Paul asks: This version seems to channeling the famed Hooker Rising Cards! I wonder if Dr. Schwartz communed with the spirit of Miltiades III?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: I've heard talk...;)
  • Michael asks: Can three different and consecutive cards rise from the pack, or are we limited to only one?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: One card only.
  • Amit asks: Why say ungimmicked ? of course there is a gimmick it is not in the cards or in the glasses so it is in the card case but it is there, shady marketing.

    • 1. Moshe answers: Only the glasses are referred to as "ungimmicked"

  • Larry asks: Does this work like most of his effects like the rising card miracle and fantasy card miracle Thanks

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: This is a different method to these
  • gs asks: It seems from the video that the moment the card case is placed into the cup, the card immediately start rising. Is it possible to make the cards start rising at any time I want? Or even control the speed?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It's not possible to control the speed, and as soon as the deck is covered, that's when the rise will start. Hope that helps.
  • Ricky asks: Can the rising card be altered (rubber cement a MetaZ co "Flatwoods Monster" to the face of it)?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Please email us at wizards@vanishingincmagic.com and we can discuss this with you
