The Mercury Fold has never been easier! "Easy Fold" is a special gimmick from Matthew Wright that hides in plain sight, allowing you to easily conduct a cleaner, more precise fold in real world situations.

Many of the best card tricks and gimmicks in the world make use of the versatile Mercury Card Fold. Yet, while the mechanics of the fold are easy to learn, it does take quite a bit of practice to get a clean fold during your performances. Many magicians panic and end up with a sloppy fold. Others are too intimidated all together, and end up just skipping any routines that involve a Mercury Fold,

If that sounds like you, or if you are a magician that has never attempted a Mercury Fold before, you're in the right place.

The "Easy Fold" card-folding gimmick handles the hard work for you, giving you the confidence needed to perform the Mercury Card fold in any situation Since everything happens in the offbeat moment of putting the cards in the box, there is absolutely no heat on you. You don't have to rush and can get a nice, neat fold every time.

No previous experience with the Mercury fold is required. Any magician can start using "Easy Fold" right away. Each gimmick comes with complete instructions, including a full routine to get you going.

This is not a bad idea. I need to practice with this device a bit more, because I just got it and tried it out. First off, the first card box that I grabbed and placed into the device almost did not fit - it is a bit snug. So, there needs to be a very tiny adjustment of some bit of either 1/32 or 1/64 of an inch. My first two tries were not perfect, but close, and that could be ok for me. I would just make the duplicate in the device and make sure that it was not perfect too. I am hoping that I do not break the device and wondered if it might be possible to make this out of metal so that it appeared like a card clip. As one of the other reviews stated, perhaps not a fast fold, but more perfect.

Good idea, not so great execution. The gimmick is too small, getting the card into position is a tight affair. The tutorial is good, the gimmick seems pretty robust. I also think that the gimmick needs a bit or an adjustment. I foresee a V2 coming out shortly. At this point it's more of a difficult fold than easy fold. S ook me small adjustments and this idea could work.

I recently purchased Easy Fold by Matthew Wright. I love all the products he has produced, up to this point.

First, the gimmick consists of a transparent plastic case that surrounds the card box. Only one side of the box can be shown. In addition, how could one justify the need for a protective case when using a cheap deck of cards. I doubt any spectators would have seen such a thing.

Secondly, the procedure for getting the card into the gimmick and performing the fold is more difficult than the manual method. The Easy Fold name is deceiving. You produce a slightly better fold, not an easy fold. Pre-scoring is an easier method that produces similar results.

Don't waste your money/time
This is the worst thing I ever bought in 30 years, you don't need it and it is 100% unpractical.
With this you are just adding 3 or 4 extra steps, no logics behind it.
Really disappointed, will ask my money back.

  • David asks: Does it work with un scored card ???

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes
  • Nate asks: This seems very exciting. Is this something that's easy to have on you and a true everyday carry? If it's connected to the box, or needs a specific box, that is helpful to know. Also, I usually put my card boxes in a Carat EDC protective sleeve, or use a card clip to protect my deck as it just goes in my pocket. Is this something that will work with this gimmick? Or be redundant/could be used instead of the Carat Sleeve? Thanks!

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: The gimmick looks like a card clip and can be kept on a normal box but you cannot sure the sleeve on it in addition to the gimmick.
  • Nate asks: Thanks - is it a replacement for a card clip that will it protect the cards/box it’s used on and be fine in my pants pocket?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes, this will cover the deck box with a hard plastic shell
