Masterclass by Richard Turner (37.50 - normally $75.00)

A magic icon shares some of his best secrets in this epic Masterclass that is required viewing for any serious card magician. Over 4 hours of incredible content from a true legend that you can download and start watching instantly!

There are certain magicians that, if you ever have the chance to learn directly from them, you can’t afford to pass it up. Richard Turner is one of those magicians and this is your chance. We are still pinching ourselves that he joined us to record a once-in-a-lifetime Masterclass.

We could spend hours recapping Richard Turner’s illustrious career (it’s so impressive, there is literally a full-length documentary about it called Dealt that is well worth a watch). But, to save you time, we’ll put it in the simplest terms possible. Richard Turner is an expert card mechanic that is, without a doubt, one of the best card handlers in the world—and, some may argue, possibly one of the best ever.

"One of the finest sleight-of-hand artists to ever live" Penn Jillette

"He does things with cards that no one in the world can do – no one."  Dai Vernon

The secret to his success has largely been driven by his unrivaled ability to tune into the deepest details of card magic that many of us overlook. He shares those insights across two unbelievable 90-minute videos. From novel techniques to full routines, Richard highlights the true secrets to elevating from a good card magician to a great one. He is a joy to watch and learn from.

Session 1

This video focuses on false deals, with a particular emphasis on Bottom Deals and Second Deals. Richard will be teaching the real work in a level of detail he has rarely shared anywhere else.

Session 2

In the second session, Richard dives into the exciting world of false shuffles, false cuts, palming and switching. As was the case in the first video, this includes full routines to put your new techniques into action.

Bonus

As a special bonus, you'll receive a recording of a live Q&A that took place when this Masterclass first aired live. Richard not only clarifies some of the taught material, but adds in some invaluable extra insight.

The way that Richard handles cards is incredible and there is so much to learn from him, especially given his experience. This was a super masterclass and I am very grateful to Vanishing Inc for putting this together.

I can't thank Vanishing Inc enough for these wonderful masterclasses! Richard Turner handles cards like very few prople do. The moves are taught in great details (some of the moves are in his Fool Us act), and I can't wait to start practicing them, especially the bottom and second deals. It will require a lot of work, but if you put in the time and effort, the moves you'll learn here will be of great use in your magic!

Incredible Masterclass. Richard Turner is simply an amazing person and were very lucky to have him in the magic world. He has obsessed for thousands of hours over different techniques to perfect them so we don't have too and we can learn the correct way instantly because of the hours he has put in. There simply isnt enough superlatives to put into words how amazing he and is work is. Thankyou Richard for this masterclass.

It’s quite amazing the dedicated practice in play you embody. I’m so grateful for your time and insights in joy you shared.

Mr Turner is phenominal in his gift of the paste boards.Though he is blind, he is able to do all his incredible sleights with precision. do Not think you can accomplish what he does in a week of practice. He has probably 50 or 60 yrs of hard core experience. I believe he puts himself to sleep with a pack of cards in each hand. No you cannot accomplish his masterful moves, but gleen what you can to improve your own.
definitely get this for historic purposes.

Beyond a doubt, one of the best Masterclasses ever! A non-stop 'reveal' of techniques Richard has perfected over many years which he now generously shares. His moves so smooth, so natural and sublime -- that even when he demonstrates how he's doing it, you're still fooled badly. Thank goodness for the 'pause' and 'replay' buttons.
On top of it all, he's a great guy and it comes across. If you're reading this and you haven't signed up, what are you waiting for? It's the Holy Grail of card manipulation. Richard Turner rocks!

Writing this having seen week one only (so far).

A must-view lecture for anyone into gambling sleight of hand. What struck me, aside from the incredible technique, was Richard's kindness. Everything he does is gentle, from handling to speech. He is generous with his knowledge, and clearly wants to pass things forward to new generations of card handlers.

Andi knows when to let Richard talk, and when to ask questions. This is very helpful.

As an aside, if you've read (actually read) Forte's books on the subject, you'll find this an excellent supplement to some of the contents there.

Amazing!! In my opinion this one lecture is worth a whole years payment for the Master Class series and there’s another one next week! Thank you Vanishing Inc. for providing this and more importantly thank you Mr. Turner for taking your time to share your insights and knowledge with us. Amazing!!

Really in-depth lecture on Richard's false deal technique. Probably the most open he's been about his second and bottom deal technique that I've seen from him online. I do think they could have done a bit better job with the camera work. However, if it was just an audio recording it would be great.

Richard is a gentleman! His knowledge is unmatched but comes across warm and inviting. The best thing is that he wants to teach us and he does this with patience.

Everything he taught was done slowly. To match his ability will take lots of time and practice so having this video to go back to is priceless. Very well done!

Very enlightening. Been a fan of Richard Turner since he appeared on “That’s Incredible” in the 70’s. Good explanation of why you hold the deck delicately and why a push off second is better than a strike. Looking forward to the Q&A in 2 weeks

Richard Turner is the "Yoda of Magic." He is one of the kindest and warmest people I have ever met and looking at him you would think that he is a professor. When he breaks out the deck, however, it is like nothing you have ever seen (much like Yoda's Jedi skills). Other's moves (bottom deal e.g.) seem have some sort of telegraph. Richard, on the other hand, handles the deck with such gentleness and uniformity that no one would suspect, let alone detect, any special "move."
This first lecture dealt with different "deals" that can be used with a deck of cards.
Mr. Turner goes over the bottom deal in great detail. In fact he tips a bottom deal that he has never tipped to anyone before! He then moves on to cover the second deal and some different applications of the move.
All in all this was an incredible lecture and Andi added just the right mix of questions and comments and managed to ask what I (and I imagine many others) were wondering.
In short, how can you not want to learn from Yoda?
Great, Great Lecture!

WOW! Truly a "maser class" with a living legend. Joined late but I'll be watching the recording...over and over again.

Thanks.

Excellent session. I am probably just above a beginner card guy so some of the moves were a little above my level but the practice advice Richard gave is just priceless. He explains things extremely well so I could follow him even as beginner and has given me a whole new way of practicing card moves that I had not read or heard anywhere before. Richard also has the best example of the large move covering the small move. There are a lot of things to unpack from this session which should be a lot of fun. I am really looking forward to the next session.

When I saw his name for this masterclass I was all in! It was nice to see the level of detail he gave certain parts; particularly the second and bottom deal. I’m nowhere near close to his level, so I’m not able to perform it well, but it’s nice to have this as a reference to look back upon when I get more practice. It’s a little off the cuff in terms of flow and it makes it feel stagnant sometimes but overall it was nice to have him for this series
