The first privately circulated edition of Earl Nelson's Variations was published in 1978. One year later Mark Wilson produced the edition that today is considered a modern classic. Now, twenty-five years later, Variations has undergone a complete transformation. The text has been corrected, expanded and re-typeset, the original line drawings have been replaced with 270 crystal-clear photographs and the dimensions of the book have been changed allowing it to lay flat on the table for ease of study. Plus, an entire section of brand new material has bee added which includes the incredible Miller Variable Placement. Upon seeing Earl perform this versatile move, some of the most knowledgeable magicians in the business called it revolutionary. Now you can have all of Earl's old material and the best new material simply by revisiting Variations.

Customer reviews for Variations Revisited

This book is a breath of fresh air. A lot of newer books can be hard to go through: a couple of good routines surrounded by mostly filler routines... Not with "Variations"! Everything I've read so far is a "worker" and can be incorporated into my repertoire. The effects are strong, very well constructed and have withstood the test of time. Even 40 years after their original publication these routines haven't aged one bit. Highly recommended.

This book is proof again of how many hidden gems are buried within old books. I love Earl Nelson’s style and it really seems to come out in this book. I am profoundly grateful that this got re-printed. Sometimes older material feels dated, but it is even discussed in the book how well it holds up. My favorite items are the ring in string moves.

Must have book. I only wish I had been studying it earlier and longer! Vanishinginc always does a wonderful job with packaging and shipping and keeping me in the "loop" as to ETA. Always a pleasure!
