A super commercial, self-working mess-terpiece.
You start by introducing some art postcards that have been chopped up, as well as a mini easel with a mysterious red envelope. The spectator shuffles the pieces, which you then deal to the table—some face-up and some face-down.
The spectator then gives the packet a special "origami shuffle" in which the pieces are folded into one packet. Each fold they choose to make changes the positions and orientations of the cards.
You then spread the packet across the table and bring attention to the red envelope that has been in play since the start of the routine. Inside, you correctly predicted how many pieces would remain face down.
But, that's not all. You turn over all but one of the pieces to show they are all from the same picture! The spectator then turns over the last piece—but, it doesn't match.
That's when you surprise them with a kicker ending they'll never see coming. Your prediction card also shows that you predicted an exact match of their mis-made picture. A true mess-terpiece!
