A one-of-a-kind prediction effect with a captivating theme and gorgeous props that thrives in any environment. "Hotel 1950" is a powerful and easy routine for both magicians and mentalists alike.

The Story Behind "Hotel 1950"

During his heyday in 1950, Lucky Murphy was a professional gambler who traveled the world, fleecing suckers and operating every scam going. Throughout his journeying, this expert con artist collected hotel advertising cards to remember his ventures.

People always said he was incredibly and inexplicably lucky. That was until one fateful day when he visited a particular hotel and his luck ran out.

The Routine

You hand a spectator a small bag and then introduce a stack of hotel advertising cards. With your back turned, they look through the cards one at a time and choose one. They take it out and slip it into their pocket without anyone seeing. Inexplicably, you're able to tell them exactly what hotel they chose.

You then take this experiment further by allowing the spectator a chance to stop on another hotel. This time, they open the bag to find a hotel room key from the hotel they just selected. Lucky Murphy's cursed key!

Customer reviews for Hotel 1950

The props and story line is absolutely amazing. Now let's talk about the trailer ...it makes everything look so smooth and fluid however it leaves a lot out! It is misleading while staying true to the story line. I would really like to see a full performance. I don't need it but it would be better than the theatrical one used. If the props were not so nice I would not give it the rating I did.

      • 1. Jon answers: The two business cards mentioned are for the 'spooky' routine, the stack of vintage cards are the ones you see in the trailer bearing the Hotel names.

    • Norman asks: I have a question about the instructions book that doesn’t make sense. The part about the three card monte phase says if you find the red “lucky” card you win a dollar and if not you lose.According to the instructions after 3 rounds how can the mark be 4 dollars down? ?? You need to get to 13 for the truck to work.help ??

      • 1. Randall answers: I would think that making the third round double or nothing would solve that. They’ve already lost two dollars so the third would either being them back even or be down four dollars.
