The Watch - magic
The Watch The Watch The Watch The Watch The Watch The Watch The Watch The Watch The Watch The Watch

You give your spectator a watch to hold. They name a time; hour and minute. You ask them to look at the watch. It matches their time exactly.

João Miranda has created what magicians and mentalists have spent years yearning for. A reliable, fast watch prediction effect that uses no apps, stooges or secret assistants.

Previous watches have had some degree of compromise. You had to hold the watch band, or use Bluetooth which may have some reliability issues in certain circumstances. Or an app and assistant. This patent-pending solution solves everything.

Along with the beautiful watch, you’ll also receive a custom 10 button keypad that allows you to input the time in under three seconds with 100% accuracy. Let’s have a look at some of the other features:

  • Vibration feedback on remote when time is inputted correctly - giving you peace of mind
  • Functions as regular watch - no suspicious “prop” watch here
  • Optional delay of 15 seconds - allows for hands off revelation
  • Durable battery - you’ll get over a thousand performances from one charge
  • Clever remote design - the zero button is set aside from the other numbers on the keypad, meaning you’ll always be sure of the orientation
  • Speed - a sneaky algorithm determines which is the fastest way to move the hands to get to the desired outcome faster than anything else on the market
  • On top of all that, you’re also going to get four fully-formed routines you can perform with your watch: Objects, Premonition, Time Lapse and a killer ACAAN.

If you’ve ever wanted to perform this classic effect, João Miranda’s The Watch is the absolute best possible way to go.

Community questions about The Watch

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Jeff asks: What is the face size of this watch in millimeters?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It's about 36mm in diameter.
  • Amanda asks: Hi! This really peaked my interest! I have a few questions though! Is it waterproof (please let me know if I missed that part in the description)? Also, I am a female magician with tiny wrists which makes me think about the wristband. Is the chain version able to have the links removed for resizing and is the watch designed for replacement bands (in case I go with the leather and have to poke a hole that wears out over time). Thanks for being patient with my silly questions! Hope you guys have a terrific day! :-)

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It is splash proof and the band can be adjusted of course. We do recommend letting a watch maker do this though.
  • Robert asks: Unlike Amanda, I have a chubby wrist. Is the leather watch band replaceable with a larger watch band. Bobk

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Of course. We recommend letting a watch maker do this for you though.
  • Richard asks: Once the watch receives the transmitted time will it then continue to advance in real time? In other words, say I transmit 5:00 to the watch and then ad lib for 3 minutes before the watch face is shown. Will the watch read 5:03, or stay where I set it at 5:00?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It will stay where it is set.
  • Alain asks: Hi, Is the button to change manually the time works normaly with the click when you pull it out ? After the effect, how can you come back to the real time ? With the remote control ? Does this watch is water resistant ?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: The remote control handles this but everything is explained in the instructions. The watch is splash proof.
  • David asks: Does the crown on the watch still adjust the time? Can it be handed to a spectator so they can see that moving the crown changes the time?

    • 1. Ronwald answers: The crown on the watch can't be use to adjust the time. You can hand it to the spectator but you don't need to show that the crown changes the time--it's like running when not being chased. You don't have to prove anything because the actual basic effect would be more than enough.

  • George asks: Is it sapphire glass and stainless case? I heard that the band is faux leather. Is this true? George

    • 1. Ronwald answers: Not sure about sapphire glass but I'm pretty sure the case is stainless steel. The band can be replaced easily by real leather if you want or any type of band that fits your style.

  • Molim asks: I´ve want to perform the famous time synchronisation effect in wich the specator blindly changes the time by turning the stem when its out, than pushing it back in when she wants. Is this possible? If yes, can I still change the time with the remote after the spectator pushed the stem back in? Thank you for your efforts!

    • 1. Dean answers: You cannot perform this effect like that on this watch. The stem is simply for show, it cannot be pulled out nor turned.
    • 2. Molim answers: Many thanks!

  • David asks: Does "The Watch" come with a warranty? And is the warranty transferrable?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It comes with a two-year warranty. The warranty documentation does not mention whether it is transferrable.
  • Benoit asks: Does the watch precise enough to be used as a regular watch to keep time with accuracy as a normal watch would do ?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Of course! It acts just like a real watch.
  • Dick asks: Is the watch ready to be performed at any time or do you need to go into the back of the watch to turn it on?

    • 1. Ronwald answers: It needs to be turn on/activated by a magnet (which is supplied).

  • Terry asks: What sort of potential issues will there be taking the watch and more importantly the gimmick through airport security? I fly a lot, would love to have this available at airport bars and lounges- will this pass security without problems?

    • 1. Ronwald answers: Most watches have some type of electronic mechanism inside--and this watch is not any different. Having said that, I don't see any issues going through airport security with this.

  • Brett asks: A friend of mine received this and the receiver seems extremely noisy. Really LOUD buzzing. Far louder than any iPhone buzz. Can you adjust the loud buzzing? Turn it down?

    • 1. Loïc answers: I don't agree with the fact that "in a normal environment people won't notice". If for a very casual settings (like the one I tried the watch on), my friends asked about the buzzing... I'm considering opening the receiver to suppress that buzzing sound altogether..... What's presented as the best point of this product is IMO the weakest point...
    • 2. Markus answers: 2.0 is NOW 40% QUIETER REMOTE, 50% MORE RANGE. But there is no way to get the new buzzer? João Miranda please change v.1.0 the long buzzer sound in 3 short for example (the sound of silence) ?? Thx
    • 3. Dean answers: I agree with your friend that it is loud. I was messing with it yesterday in the kitchen with my boys and they didn’t notice it (they would have soon said if they heard anything). In a normal environment it’ll be fine.
    • 4. Joshua answers: I'm actually struggling with this as well and it has been noticed. The vibration of the receiver is too strong, and thus really loud.
    • 5. Claes answers: I also thought the buzz was to loud, so i took the lid of on the transmitter and found that the battery was loose. I pushed it back on the lid and placed a piece of foam inside the transmitter and then closed the lid again. It went really silent then it was from the beginning.

  • James asks: Is there an actual performance using the watch posted online? This would help greatly in my decision to purchase.

    • 1. Ronwald answers: The trailer shows a couple of the routines.
    • 2. Russell answers: I totally agree! Very interested, but not about to spend large amount of money without genuine videos of real world performances.
    • 3. James answers: I watched the trailer again and also watched the 45 minute Q&A with the creator. Neither contains an actual performance of The Watch. This is disingenuous, at best. Without a real life performance, it's just another clever prop, and not worth the money you're asking.

  • George asks: Does the remote use radio frequency or infared? In other words - does it work through walls and clothing?

    • 1. Ronwald answers: It’s radio frequency. It can work through clothing but I’m not sure about walls. Distance is pretty good though. And it has a very cool feature where the remote constantly “looks” for the watch. The vibration feedback also ensures that the effect is done.

  • willy asks: is there a picture of the transmitter you can show? will it fit into a pocket? thanks

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes and yes. https://www.murphysmagicsupplies.com/images/63694-full.png
  • Brian asks: Can you please post detailed photos of the watch on the page from all angles? I didn’t notice any except a video. I would want to see what the actual watch looks like all around.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: The trailer shows you many angles. If you would like to see something specific, you can email us.
  • James asks: Can the battery in the watch and/or the keypad be replaced?

    • 1. Mark answers: The replacement battery for the watch is available from Joao Miranda's website. The replacement battery for the keypad is not listed on the website. To date, they have not responded to my inquiries about the availability of the remote replacement battery.
