Looks, feels, and sounds like a regular quarter and magnetic properties are great for a variety of effects including magnetic detection.

Got this for magnetic detection with Flux. It does the job. It does take some practice to get the right angle with flux for heads/tails detection. I'm happy with the distance. It looks pretty good, but I wouldn't compare two quarters side by side. This was an old (pre-state) quarter. Only thing that seemed a little off was the edge color and milling feel -- but this won't be scrutinized for this sort of effect.
