Perfect Shell Coin Set - Eisenhower Dollar (Not Expanded)

This is a set that includes a shell and 4 special coins that fit perfectly inside the shell.

Usually we use our own coins to perform magic - it's very rare occasion when the magician asks for borrowed coins for performing. Actually, if you use half or one-dollar coins, nobody has these coins in his pocket, because they aren't current coins used today.

So, if you are going to perform with your own coins, why not use a Perfect Shell Set? This covers all of the coin, hiding 100 per cent of the coin inside!

These coins are perfect to perform any expanded shell routine and they are undetectable.

Tango Magic quality -- you know it's the best in the world.

This is an unusual shell set, with some interesting capabilities.

I have primarily used expanded shells (Morgan, Ike, Kennedy, Walking Liberty) for decades, because for the most part, an expanded shell will work with any normal or flipper coin in the set you are using, and you don't have to keep track of which coins are inserts and which are not. This makes it easier to perform more complex, multi-coin routines. The only drawback is, of course, that most expanded shells do expose a bit of the coin under the shell lip. This is not a problem when the coins are on your mat, but when doing hand to hand, or putting the shell and coin into the hand of a spectator, you need to be aware of both the lip and the fact that the filled shell is slightly thicker than a regular coin.

This set is different, in that the inserts has been reduced in thickness so that the unexpanded shell covers the edge completely. This is a distinct advantage when doing stand-up/walk around or intimate dinner table work, I think.

The minor drawback of the set is that as a result of the thinning of the inserts, the coins don't "klink" with the same sound that a full thickness coin would. This is noticeable to me since I have been using Ikes and Morgans for years, but is not noticed by casual spectators that are not familiar with these coins. Most of my audience, unless they are close to my own age, have never even seen an Eisenhower Dollar up close, let alone handled one. The advantage of this softer klink between coins for the performer is that the coins don't really "talk" like regular Ikes or Morgans when mishandled in a slight.

So I keep this set in a separate coin pouch (I am using use a Pocket Portal) to keep them from getting mixed up with from my other coins, and they are going to be my "go to" set for several 4 coins and a shell routines.
