This is a Vanishing Inc. first that we’re so excited to bring to you! These gorgeous blueprints are authentic relics of magic’s golden age where they were prized by magicians for the secret information they held. Intrigued by alluring names like “The Bridal Chamber Illusion”, “A Barrel of Spirits,” and “Flight of the Rodents”, conjurers would purchase these blueprints to make their own illusions.

Viewed through the prism of today, these blueprints offer an incomparable aesthetic that will look perfect mounted in your home or office. The vibrant Blueprint Blue radiates off the page, inviting viewers to come closer and inspect the intricate details of these magical creations. Thayer Magic was known for creating “quality magic” and these blueprints are no exception.

You don’t have to worry about exposing any magic secrets either. Not only are these illusions not used anymore, but the details won’t make much sense to the untrained eyes. Instead, your guests will simply be mesmerized by the elegance and ingenuity of our past masters, appointed in an artistic style that is genuine to its time. There is no better conversation starter.

All of these blueprints were printed as part of an original distribution run at the turn of the 20th century. We have just one of each unique design and don’t anticipate ever coming across any more.

While they vary in size, we've taken care of the inconvenient part for you. Each one has been perfectly custom-matted so that you can easily frame it in a 20in x 24in frame.

Oh, and here’s something fun—not only did these trusty blueprints survive more than 100 years…they also survived our warehouse fire. According to the inspectors, these were among the only things to survive unscathed. So, in addition to a marvelous tribute to magic’s history, consider each one to be very, very good luck.

  • Will asks: Are these originals or copy prints? Or?

    • 1. William Schmeelk answers: Just my opinion - These most certainly appear to be original blueprints put out by Thayer. Modern copies have been made, but all were done in the more modern blue line method where the page is white and the lines are blue. Original Thayer plans were all done in the white line method and they would be difficult today to be reproduced with any quality. The plans were original drawn by Carl Owen while working for Thayer. Although the plans were well done and of a level of quality not often found in magic plans, when I found a small error in one of them, I mentioned it to Carl, he chuckled and commented, that, "those plans were made for selling, not building." Years later, under the Owen Brothers name, Carl put out the Owen Schematic Blueprints and these were the best plans ever made and while I worked for Les Smith in the early 1970s, I found that some of them were still used in the shop when building.
