Juan Luis Rubiales "OLE!" is one of the most enjoyable and educational Magic experiences you could purchase.
You want to spend time with this guy. He's funny, talented, humble and truly a one of kind character.
Put it this way, it would be hard to find any character in any Movie like this guy.
Why ?
Because to me he matches very powerful tricks with humour and great suspense. So many no way moments.
So it's not just a friendly joker doing simple tricks. But yet that's kind of the attitude.
It's a friendly joker who is about to grip you with some of the best magic you will see.
The photography of the shows (Video framing and editing) is some of the best I have ever seen.
The lighting, the close ups, the cuts to spectator faces and the intimacy of feel is beautiful.
There were probably 3,4, or 5 cameras covering maybe 10 -20 people during performance in a unique place.
At the end of the day if you appreciate high quality production values then EMC is the Gold standard.
It is funny when you think despite all the technology, Has most Magic productions really taken advantage of this ?
Rubiales is a an awesome and passionate instructor. You will want to learn from this guy. And then do him and magic proud.
I found the instructions to be above very good and nearing perfect status. Everything is covered and in an entertaining way. He knows what questions we'll have. Because he has/had them too.
Rubiales shows you can tackle difficult problems in tricks by facing them, rather than ignoring them and hope the audience might miss something.
Of course as he mentions he had help from the greatest Spanish and non-spanish Magis of the Century and history - it shows in the solutions.
I like this attitude of try and do a solution and even if you get caught sometimes, you are moving towards the goal of more impossible magic.
BTW Rubiales doesn't advise to get caught :)
The variety here is awesome. Cards, Coins, and Mentalism which can presented inches away or 10 to 20 feet and beyond.
There is a lot of great unique Parlour size tricks here which don't give the audience the feel like the Magician would rather be doing close up tricks on a table, but now he's being forced to make his tricks bigger on stage..feel.
My Magic stage presentation confidence has improved greatly by learning and continuing studying from these DVD's.
Throughout the instructions you are not just learning the great trick or routine (which is important) but also the deep thinking behind what is going on. Good for the brain !
Great interviews and great questions presented as well.
It's very liberating Magic and the Rubiales style is something every Magician should experience.
He's like a new room in the Magic House you may never have been in.
You will be fourcking happy with this. :)
