Paul Daniels is one of the most successful magicians of all time. In 2003 he staged a one-man show as a tribute to Max Malini, a legendary performer of the early 20th century who traveled the world performing in bars, hotels and theaters as well as giving command performances to many of the world's leaders. The popularity of Paul's Malini show led to an expanded edition that ran in London's West End in 2004. This DVD captures the London show in its entirety where you see Paul present many of Malini's legendary routines and stunts. I have been watching the DVD for a few evenings and I find it enjoyable. Its not mind blowing by any stretch of the imagination but I bought this as a companion to the Max Malini book which was recenty reprinted. I have heard a lot about Max Malini but haven't really seen his magic in action. The video is performance only (which I knew), so dont expect explanations but if you have been into magic a while there aren't any major foolers. The book I bought covers most of the tricks if you want to learn the tricks. The DVD is not HD so its a bit grainy on a large TV but still enjoyable. I am glad I have this.
