I had to return this item because, although it looked pretty, it was completely nonfunctional. The gaff was jammed so tightly into the lid of the vase, it was nearly impossible to remove. With the edge of s credit card and a lot of patience, I was able to gradually pry the gaff free. But now it was impossible to replace the lid onto the vase, making it thoroughly useless as a magic prop. I gave up and sent it back

  • Matthew asks: Hi Guys, The Deluxe Wooden Ball Vase is really beautiful. Could you please convey its dimensions--most notably how tall it stands? Also, since the ball and vase is so familiar to so many would-be magicians, I would like to consider performing a variation on the "Duplex Ball and Vase" handling that appears in Racherbaumer and Marlo's book "Arcade Dreams." This would entail ordering at least an additional fake for the vase in addition to the one it comes with, and I would consider ordering another ball as well, just in case. Could you let me know if that might be an option, and if so, what the associated costs might be? Thank you! Matthew

    • 1. James answers: The size of the entire package is 7.2 x 3.2 x 3.3 inches—so the vase will be slightly smaller. As far as I know, no extra parts are available.

  • Don asks: does the ball appear to sit at the same depth as the shell appears to and the ball appears to fit as tight in the vase as the shell appears to?

    • 1. Jim answers: No, but from a distance, they look fine, in my opinion.
