Ken Weber has done something remarkable: he has written a modern classic. This site is NOT about hyperbole, so you won’t hear us mention this often. Many magic books—good magic books—will have their moment and then fade away. This book is here to stay. It’s an undisputed classic. And a success! It’s one of the top-selling books in our field for five years running!

Why? Because it delivers its promise. You can read this book and make the show or tricks you already do, better! Ken teaches us things no other magic book does: how to be our own THEATRICAL director, how to handle spectators, how to work a microphone, how to ADAPT to difficult situations, and much more. Every professional dreams of having a director like Ken Weber. Now we can. Maximum Entertainment is essential reading if you’re serious about performing magic.

Here is just some of what you can expect:

  • How to BE YOUR OWN DIRECTOR.
  • Puzzle, trick, or EXTRAORDINARY MOMENT; Be sure you know the difference!
  • How to precisely target the "BIG THREE" REACTIONS.
  • Discover the SIX PILLARS OF ENTERTAINMENT SUCCESS. You will never reach your full potential until you master all six.
  • Learn essential tips for SCRIPTING AND REHEARSING, and CHOOSING THE MOST POWERFUL MATERIAL.
  • Discover invaluable VOICE tricks and LANGUAGE SKILLS.
  • Do you know the smart way for magicians to be FUNNY? This book will show you.
  • Immensely practical tips on MUSIC, SOUND and LIGHTING.
  • Find out what the most successful performers do BEFORE, DURING, and even AFTER every show
  • Plus bonus chapters zeroing in on the special problems faced by CLOSE-UP MAGICIANS, "SILENT" ACTS, and MENTALISTS.

Ken Weber is one of the most successful mentalist/magicians in America. Newsweek magazine named him "one of the most frequently requested" performers on the college circuit. Ken Weber has performed for over 500 colleges and universities, and for major corporations, associations and resorts.

Through careful study, he uncovered the many secrets that helps top performers stand apart from their peers. He shares a blueprint for success in Maximum Entertainment 2.0 including:

"This book is here to stay. It's an undisputed classic. Every professional dreams of having a director like Ken Weber. Now we can. Maximum Entertainment is essential reading if you're serious about performing magic." Joshua Jay

"The ultimate guide for the entertainer of the 21st century. Deceptively simple, practical, and fun. Highly constructive advice for any performer. With deep insight and gentle guidance, Ken Weber breaks a critical silence about the flaws within our art form. A stroke of genius in concept, and a joy to read!" Marc Salem

"Little hints and big ideas combine until literally every page is sprinkled with priceless information!... The chapters on 'Lights' and 'Sound' should be required reading for anyone who performs on stage." Eric Mead (Genii magazine)

"I often recommend your book in my seminars, private teachings and in general conversations. You really did an amazing job. It is required reading for all my students." Shawn Farquhar(FISM Grand Prix World Champion of Magic)

"The best book I've read in many years about the practical side of stage performance. Every serious magician should own this book." Jeff McBride

I can not get my hands off this wonderfull book. Except the time using a pen and paper for taking golden notes of advise and tips. Do yourself a big favore and grab a copy. Easily one of my favorite magic books.

Actually the rating is "Beyond Excellent"!
I know when Ken points out things that performers can improve about their act, he's talking about OTHER performers, not me! ... WRONG!
The book is a great read with great thoughts and point that everyone performing needs to think about and correct. Not all may apply, but the majority do.
I have done local plays and had directors - both book and musical - and they do give harsh criticism of the performer in rehearsals. And their criticisms are valuable and make the show better.
Ken is, in a way, in this book, your remote director. He has a lot of valuable thoughts and points that, even if they do not seem to apply to you, you/we need to consider. And this book is for mentalists as much as magicians.
Well written, entertaining, and immensely valuable.
Get it. No tricks, just pure gold.

An absolute must-read for any working magician or mentalist! The writing style is great and as a person who has short attention spam I greatly enjoyed the book having many short chapters instead of a couple very long ones.

I read this as part of the magicians book club and am glad we chose this title. Even though I’m not a performer and only an amateur this book has something for everyone, even if you took out the main performance tips you will still gain something from this

Highly recommended for the experienced and inexperienced among us

Absolutely love this book, never have i enjoyed a book so much! I’m not a big reader but found this so easy to read. It’s like Ken is personally speaking to you from the pages. Chapters are broken up into sub chapters and topics which are helpful. I only wish I was pointed to this book sooner. This is pure gold and an absolutely bargain at under £30.

One of the best books ever written on how to do magic. Everything is detailed with a lot of minutiae. It was the book that made me jump in my conception of magic. It allowed me to question myself and ask myself the right questions. Must have.

Community questions about Maximum Entertainment 2.0: Expanded & Revised

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Will asks: I own Maximum Entertainment (the original). How much of this book is new or revised? (% or number of pages?)

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: There are approximately 75 new pages.
    • 2. Ken answers: Hi Will, Can you keep a secret? The book (2.0) is actually more than 80 pages longer than the original. We've been advertising that it's "more than 75 pages longer" but I say that so if you don'l like some of the pages, you won't feel cheated! But beyond the page count, many sections have been substantially revised. I think you'll be pleased with new new edition. I worked on it for about two years so I truly hope everyone finds value in it, whether or not they purchased the original. KW
  • Brett asks: Would it be more accurate to call this a replacement for the original or a supplement to the original? In other words, if I buy this is there any reason to hold onto my copy of the original?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: A replacement.
  • Tommy asks: Is this (or will this be) available in a Kindle or audio version?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: There are no plans that I am aware of—sorry!
  • Aidan asks: Can this apply to close up magicians? Or only stage performers?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Every magician should read this book!
