There is so much in this book, I am just starting out with magic, and there is just so much in here, and trying to get my mind wrapped all around it is a lot to take in. The fact that this is only one volume of three it is crazy how much content Marlo created. Hopefully, I can learn as much as I can from this book.

Marlo did it again. The book covers sufficiently good topics such as false shuffles, false cuts, palming, and many other techniques that are essential for advanced card magic. I consider it a must-read for anyone interested in learning and mastering card tricks.

This is an amazing collection of card work. Marlo is an absolute legend, and if you want to aspire to mastery of card magic this is a must have.
Keep in mind, I would not really recommend this for a beginner. What you'll find in here is advanced material that will be studied for years.

Revolutionary Card Magic was originally in little paper bound booklets. I spent countless hours poring over these. That there is a new, full-sized, hardbound (and I mean new compared to the originals) volume with some amendments is great news! Have you ever gotten headaches from the tiny type? Of course, you have! But, no more! Better type size, in an actual font! Oh, be still my heart! (Not jokin, this stuff is fabulous!) what a gift to card workers. Not for the novice. I would send the novice to Roberto Giobbi’s Card College first. It greatly supersedes Royal Road for me. (I own both). But this volume sets the standard for card technique! Miss at your own peril!

All of a sudden, I can center deal...

TL;DR - If you have a card problem, Marlo has already thought of a solution(s), and it's probably in this fantastic book.

Long Version - The center deal has eluded me for over 20 years. Having small hands (I can barely palm a card without it leaking), most of the center deal methods I've encountered were frustratingly infeasible for my particular situation. Until I got RCT. Within its pages, I've happily found a method that is, with some minor adjustments, finally workable for me (i.e., The Step Center Deal). My technique still needs a lot of work, but I'm light years closer to a serviceable center deal than I ever have been.

No stone is left unturned. Every move in the book is broken down in painstaking detail: every finger position, every pressure point, every pivot point. Multiple methods and handlings are offered for each sleight. In other words, this book is complete. I'll echo what another reviewer posted - RCT is for the *advanced* card student. Noobs to card magic: work through The Royal Road to Card Magic first, then come back to this in a few years. Seriously. Add my name to those who've already given RCT their highest recommendation!

Prepare to dedicate your life to this book! I am not kidding! It's that good. While this is a book of technique there are applications to these techniques throughout these wonderful manuscripts of Marlo's. Be warned though, only serious magicians should study this. It is not for the 'dabbler' or somebody that hates to practice. This book will challenge you and give you many sleepless nights. However, if you keep the faith and put the work into the techniques, you will be handsomely rewarded. It's been a little over two years since I purchased this wonderful tome, but every time I study something in here, I always take something valuable away. Thank you Ed Marlo!

This is, hands down, the best book on card technique that there is. It's not debatable. It just is. If you disagree, then you're wrong.

  • Aylan asks: Will the revolutionary card technique be back in stock soon. Thankyou.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes we are expecting it back in stock at the end of May, but this is not guaranteed.
  • Danny asks: Wondering if RCT is a book of Marlo ‘moves’ or, is it a book filled with more common moves? Eg. If I wanted to learn the Elmsley Count, would RCT be if assistance, or do I go to Card College?

    • 1. Scott answers: Not to be flippant, but you ought to refers to BOTH sources --- Marlo's "RCT" as well as Giobbi's "Card College". And, to be honest, don't stop there. You will find that other card masters, and practitioners who have yet to achieve the honorific title of card master, offer their own useful insights, tips, and variations on particular moves and effects. (For instance, if you're interested in the Elmsley Count, you ought to check John Bannon's and Liam Montier's discussions --- to name a couple --- on that particular count.) The point is, don't limit yourself to one or two sources. Learn from many, and blend what you learn into your own technique. If you do that, you'll have no regrets.

  • Dominic asks: Hi! I have ordered this book and should be receiving it in a week. Just wondering what would be the best way to work through it. Should I read the whole book and then go back to specific moves I like? Or should I look at one thing from each chapter and practice that? I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

  • Jonathan asks: Maybe this is a stupid question (since this is number 1 in the triology) but would you recommend I read this or "Cardially yours" first? Isn't the stuff in that volume chronologically earlier work? Thanks!

    • 1. Jim answers: It is chronologically earlier, but you can read them in any order.
