As seen on Dynamo’s recent special Miracles, “Gravity Clips” by Greg Van Holsbeck is a visual, entertaining, easy-to-do mentalism routine that can be customized to fit any environment.

"An amazing moment of magic. Gravity Clips is a reveal unlike anything you have seen before, leaves their jaws on the floor every single time. It’s 100% reliable and can be adapted to so many situations. The sort of magic I love performing"Dynamo

You hand someone a collection of items (let’s say it’s postcards from dream vacation spots). As you turn away, they select one. Their choice is then lost back in the pack and all the cards are clipped to a cord, which is stretched out in front of everyone.

While they hold one end and you (or someone else) hold the other, the cord is given a quick tug. All of the cards instantly tumble to the ground…except for one. Their selection is the only one left hanging!

This is just one of the countless ways you can take advantage of the versatile “Gravity Clips” gimmick. You could use playing cards, business cards, birthday cards, receipts, photos, or even just slips of paper with words written on them. Greg has even used socks and silks before. Any item that can be held by a bulldog clip will work.

No sleight of hand is required either. The ingenious method is essentially self-working, allowing you to put all your energy and focus into a presentation that keeps your audience fully entertained. Since everything also packs flat and can be customized in seconds, “Gravity Clips” is the perfect tool for any scenario from close up to stage and even casual parties.

"I love Gravity Clips. I regularly use it in my Disney cruise line shows where it amazes an audience of more than 1000 people!"Jon Armstrong

You'll receive a versatile, custom cord-and-clip gimmick that comes ready to be used out of the box with whatever items you want. To help you get started, Greg shares a variety of routine ideas in the detailed tutorial—many of which use items you likely already have lying around, like playing cards. As a special bonus, you’ll also receive a custom PDF with perfectly-sized postcards that are ready to be printed.

If you’re looking for a mind-reading routine that’s easy to do and leaves a lasting impact, then you need to grab your copy of “Gravity Clips” by Greg Van Holsbeck from Vanishing Inc. today!

So amazing! This can be used in many different situations and with many different props, basically anything that can be clipped with a bulldog clip. It’s super-easy to work with, you just have to force or know what the selected card or item is prior to the reveal (examples are provided). It is stunning when everything drops from the clips except for their selection.

Greg is a nice man, and this is a very nice product. I’m excited to use it on cruise ships and in parlor shows!

Community questions about Gravity Clips

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Tank asks: Is the order in which they are clipped mandated, or can it be random? Meaning, is it the same clip each time that does not release?

    • 1. Jeff answers: Yes it is the same clip each time, the seven can be in any order. This is an amazing routine!

  • Michael asks: Is this an adaptation of the similar Stewart James effect using normal clips?

    • 1. Greg VanHolsbeck (creator) responds: Yes, it's based on the Stewart James trick. The method is tweaked.
  • Jeff asks: How many clips can it be done with? How many are included? If we want more, are they easily purchasable standard items at office supply stores?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: You get 8 clips on the string but only 7 will fall, leaving 1 behind. You can find the items on Amazon but it is a little difficult to construct a new one.
  • Christopher asks: Would a motorized/ electronic version possibly be in the works?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: No plans to make something like that. The advantages of this is that it can't possibly fail, is very reasonably priced, and anyone can do it. Not sure adding electronics would add much!
  • Christopher asks: Also, a version where the cards are facing the audience would be nice too.

    • 1. Christopher answers: I think you can make an attachment to the cards to remedy this. So nm, not an issue.
    • 2. Vitaliy answers: Can the card be thought of and become the last card hanging? Or it needs to be pulled out, shown to the audience and magician?

  • Vitaliy asks: Before I ask - Sorry I asked the question in the answer section of the previous question. Please remove it. Can the card be thought of and become the last card hanging? Or it needs to be pulled out, shown to the audience then given back to magician to do all the hanging?

    • 1. Greg VanHolsbeck (creator) responds: What you get in the box is a set of 8 clips on a cord and when you pull the cord, 7 of the items fall. The way that the card (or whatever item) is selected is completely up to you. I teach a few simple routines in the tutorial, but all the actual prop does is drop all the items on the cord except the 3rd one.
  • Ben asks: On the trailer it gives the impression that the items can, in some circumstances, fall one at a time with the exception of the "chosen" card/silk. Is that possible?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: They cannot fall one at a time. They will fall at the same time except the chosen item.
  • Pittawat asks: Can I use socks for this trick?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes you can use socks with this effect, please bear in mind this would only force one sock
  • Jay asks: Where can you get movie poster postcards? Or do they come with the trick?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: You can pick them up anywhere, here's a bunch: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=movie+poster+postcards&crid=2GK7Q2XMNKF0R&sprefix=movie+poster+postcard%2Caps%2C191&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 Hope that helps!
  • Bastien asks: Hi Team, can the clips fall one by one or do they all fall at the same time, every time ?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: They all fall at the same time
  • Michael asks: do we have to use all 8 clips , or can we use 7 ....or just 5...

    • 1. Greg VanHolsbeck (creator) responds: The clips don't detach from the cord, but you can certainly choose to only clip 5 items to them.
  • Von asks: I just purchased it, and Im excited to add this to my close-up act. Out of curiosity I just want to ask if how durable the cord and the clips?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Very durable. The cord is similar to parachute cord and the clips are heavy metal
  • Rafael asks: I love the idea, but I need to learn about forces. What do you recommend to learn a few nice and fool-proof forces? Thanks!

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: There are several taught in the video instructions, so no need to worry.
