Designed in the United Kingdom by Joe White, Contraband Playing Cards were inspired by secret societies, conspiracy theories, and everything unknown.
The tuck case, and the cards within, are all made in the USA on FSC-certified, ECF paper. Secret imagery is hidden within the design: the lines of the inner flap construct (literally!) a face of mystery.
Every single playing card within the Contraband deck was designed from scratch - even the Aces, Jokers, and court cards display attention to detail never before achieved. Over a year in the making - and every minute of it is visible in the final design.
I am a fan of Joe White's designs and so have owned this deck since it first appeared, but I realised that I should secure a second deck for posterity and to complete my Theory 11 collection. The cards themselves are flawless to my eye/feel and I enjoy using them although as a designer I must confess I get as much pleasure simply looking at the cards and handling them - they are inspiring. While many users prefer to use more classic using decks for their illusions, because they feel that punters will be less suspicious, I find that people i've shown these cards to have been won over by them before I even show them an illusion. Wonderful product and must have for serious collectors.
