Intaglio Playing Cards

Kings Wild Project and NY-based Thornwillow Press have collaborated to create an unbelievably unique deck of cards in the never-before-seen, hand-engraved Intaglio printmaking style for which it’s named.

You’ve never seen a deck of cards like this before because Intaglio printing style has not been used regularly for over a century. The lack of available equipment, or artists who have dedicated the years and practice needed to efficiently operate it, has made Intaglio printing a difficult style to use. Thankfully, legendary card designer Jackson Robinson was up for the challenge.

While he has hand-drawn and digitally engraved countless playing cards, Jackson has never hand-engraved a deck of cards. He has always been fascinated by Intaglio printing and has desired for years to create a deck with its iconic styling. Eager to take the next step in his artistic journey, Jackson has finally brought this dream to fruition.

The absolutely gorgeous Intaglio Playing Cards are printed on quality stock by the Expert Playing Card Company and are an homage to a legendary deck of cards called “New Era No. 46 Playing Cards”—the deck of cards that was actually the original inspiration for Jackson’s custom playing cards career.
