Orbit Playing Cards are back with an unbelievable seventh installment. Take a trip back to the 1980’s with a vibrant, retro minimalist design with just enough intricacy to catch the eye without being distracting.
A prominent pink circle design is complemented by an inverted version of the mountain range from Orbit V5 Playing Cards. This pink hue carries through the reimagined red-suited cards to create a cohesive aesthetic.
As Orbit Playing Cards have always carried some sort of space-related theme, there is also a rainbow at the bottom of the tuck case that serves as a tribute to those who perished in the 1986 Challenger space shuttle explosion. This was inspired by the commemorative patches worn by NASA astronauts when the organization resumed missions two years after the disaster. The last names of those who lost their lives are also printed on the inside of the gorgeous matte tuck case to ensure their legacy is never forgotten.
Three new court cards have also been introduced in the Orbit V7 Playing Cards based on special people that have had a profound impact on Chris “Orbit” Brown’s life. The Queen and King of Clubs depict his “second mom” Nancy and her Husband “Big Matt” who helped him through some of the most pivotal moments in his childhood. The King of Spades is also dedicated to his magic mentor John Bodine who has always pushed him in the right direction.
However, the key standout feature on this deck is absolutely the remarkably unique Vintage Pip Set. Since the Retro Arrco Pip Set used on the other decks wasn’t archived by the USPCC back to the 1980’s, the pips for the Orbit V7 Playing Cards had to be developed from scratch. To create them, Chris scanned a 1970’s Retro Arrco deck he had received as a gift onto his computer and Designer Daniel Schneider did the rest. You won’t find another deck with pips as distinct and authentic as these.
Orbit V7 Playing Cards are made on a web press with a premium crushed stock and air-cushion finish by the USPCC. Combined with a traditional cut, these playing cards handle and shuffle like a dream right out of the box. For added magic value, each deck also includes a subtle one-way back design, double-backer, matching Jokers and a duplicate 8 of Spades.
As will all Orbit Playing Cards this is a one-time print that will never be made again. Only 20,000 decks of Orbit V7 Playing Cards were ever manufactured. Deck collectors can’t afford to miss out on these!
