“Clarity” is an electronics-level prop without any of the challenges or cost.

Christopher Rawlins has been in search of the perfect drawing duplication for more than 15 years. He has made some incredible contributions to the community during this time, many of which were bestsellers (like “Reveal” and “Drawing Thoughts 1 & 2”).

But, “Clarity” was always one he held close to his chest. His secret weapon for paid performances that he has kept to himself, until now.

“Clarity” allows you to get all the information you need in seconds from a face-down clipboard. The secret is completely mechanical and contained in the razor-thin, sleek clipboard. You never have to worry about charging batteries or connecting to Bluetooth. This is as powerful as any similar electronic device, but at a fraction of the price.

Here is just a small snippet of what is possible with “Clarity”...

Your spectator stands across from you as they draw a picture on a piece of paper attached to an opaque clipboard. You are nowhere near them and can even be on the other side of the room. Once they’re done, the board is placed face down. Nothing can be seen.

Then, without any suspicious moves, you pick up the same markey they used (there’s nothing gimmicked about it or the paper) and start to draw the exact image they just drew. It’s a true miracle that is shockingly easy to do thanks to the specially-designed clarity board.

This impossible face-down peek is made possibly by a custom-grade tint and a newly-designed inner panel. Everything is beautifully packaged, professionally designed, and hand-assembled by Katsuya Masuda, the genius mind behind the “WOW” principle that makes “Clarity” work.

You can always rely on “Clarity”. It uses your own paper and markers. Easily get your peek in nearly all performing conditions from elegant parlor magic and stage magic shows to more intimate close up magic and mentalism performances.

The included video instructions spare no detail. In addition to learning a variety of different ways to get your peek, Chris shares his professional, 10-minute act using the “Clarity” board. This multi-phase routine leaves every audience dumbfounded as you read multiple minds with increasing accuracy and impossibility, finishing with a truly impossible duplication of a freely-drawn image.

NOTE: You can use a variety of different papers but, for the best results, we recommend 80gsm paper. "Clarity" also works great in daylight, or in any other normal performing conditions like a well-lit room or on a stage. But, as with any analog peek device, you'll want to avoid using it in a super dark or dimly-lit room when possible as this may make the peek more difficult to see.

Wow! What can I say? This is absolutely fantastic.

I am a massive drawing dupe junkie, and have been using Reveal since its release. This takes what was great about Reveal and multiplies it by 100.

The gimmick itself is well made, and almost feels like something out of a James Bond movie.

Everything is taught in great detail by Chris, and the full 10 minute act is a phenomenal bit of stagecraft.

Clarity is not cheap, and if you only do close up then I wouldn’t recommend it. For stage and parlour though, this is a game changer. I wish I could give this more than 5 stars, it’s that good.

Community questions about Clarity

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Peter asks: So if the boards on the table , is it the type of peek if the spectator is on the other side only you can see it and they can’t?

    • 1. Chris Rawlins (creator) responds: Hi Peter, This is all covered in the instructions with smart blocking. Your spectator draws near a side table upstage and sets the drawing face down. They are then invited to join you centre stage or at the mic further downstage. Meaning that the table with Clarity upon it is behind you both. You then activate Clarity as you pick up a pad, another board or a marker. You can either p*** it then in an instant, even though it’s facedown on the table. OR… you can walk back to your spectator and during another moment, glance back to see it. The facedown board on the table is really something special and how I use this most often. Hope that helps.
  • Joerg asks: Can it happen that the spectator holding or moving the clipboard hits the button himself by accident ?

    • 1. Chris Rawlins (creator) responds: Has never happened to me in nearly a year of use. It’s a very small button in a place where your spectator would never hold whilst writing or drawing.
  • Rick asks: What is 80 gsm paper? Is that just standard 20 lb office paper?

    • 1. Chris Rawlins (creator) responds: Exactly right - that type of paper. Though honestly, if you are performing with 2 of the three peeks taught, almost any paper will work. Normal copy/printer paper will work perfectly. With the very special tabled peek, 20 lb office/ copy paper will work really well. All the details are covered on the instructions including what types of pens aid the impossible face down peek, what paper stocks, and the specific movements etc.
  • Jean-Marie asks: Is it possible to reverse the process after peeking the information ?

    • 1. Chris Rawlins (creator) responds: Yes! After you peek, you disengage the board and it is once again, opaque.
    • 2. Jean-Luc answers: Good question!
  • Peter asks: Hi Everyone...just so I understand...is this purely a mechanical device ???? or has this electronics that create a mechanical response...Peter...thanks.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Purely mechanical. No electronics at all.
  • Joseph asks: The Clarity device looks interesting, and knowing that it is based on Wow explains the price. What are the dimensions of this clipboard? Thank you.

    • 1. Chris Rawlins (creator) responds: 18cm Tall, 13cm Wide and 5mm Thin.
  • Matthew asks: How easy is the peek to see in dim lighting?

    • 1. Chris Rawlins (creator) responds: I have used Clarity in natural lighting, stage lighting and in rather dim cabaret lighting. Like anything, you should test the device upon arrival at your venue, though lighting with Clarity is really no issue at all. The face down peek works great in all of the above settings and all the necessary details are covered well on the accompanying video. The instructions also include two other peeks that work great even in the dimmest of light. So you will never not be able to use Clarity.
  • Alan asks: Is there a full performance video?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Sadly at this time there is not
