A unique and interactive effect that is perfect for parlor shows and family shows.

Two cards are selected and then returned to the deck. You then twist a balloon into a small dog and throw it, along with the deck of cards, into a paper bag and give it a good shake. The balloon dog is removed to show it has found one of the cards with its paws. You then give the tail a shake and reveal the second card is inside.

I purchased "The Dog" by Harry Yang and TCC primarily for the card reveals, and they did not disappoint—both reveals are clever and get great reactions. However, I found the instructions for making the balloon dog a bit challenging. Having never made a balloon dog before, I was excited to learn, especially since it would be a fun giveaway at parties. Unfortunately, the instructions felt rushed, almost as if the person demonstrating was also new to tying balloon animals.

I ended up going to GoNoodle for additional guidance, which helped, but the real game-changer was when I attended a birthday party and the birthday girl herself showed me an easier and much better way to make a balloon dog. Her method was simple, and the final product looked much more polished.

Despite the hiccup with the balloon dog instructions, the effect itself is fun, interactive, and memorable. The reveal of the card inside the balloon is particularly impressive, and you receive all the necessary items for the trick, minus the paper bag. If you’re mainly interested in the card magic aspect, this effect is definitely worth considering!
