Pure Imagination Launch Party
By Andi Gladwin - Tuesday, November 12, 2019
Writing a book is a time-consuming, and often lonely process. I often find myself up until the early hours of the morning with cards or coins in one hand, leaving the other hand to describe what my fingers are executing. It's often a blend of frustrating and tiring, but when things start to come together, it all feels worth the effort.
I always tell people that there are several important milestones that I like to reach with a book:
- Finishing the text
- Getting the final text from the editors
- Finishing the layout
- Receiving the finished product
- Launching the book and hearing from readers
My latest book Pure Imagination (co-authored with John Campbell) launches today online. It features the magic of Scott Robinson. Scott's friends threw him a launch party at his TRICS magic convention where some of the people involved in the book talked about Scott and celebrated his magic. (I "called in" with a pre-recorded video, which transitioned into the trailer - which Scott was seeing for the first time.) Here are some photos, starting with Vanishing Inc.'s very own Kyle Littleton, one of Scott's closest friends and students. (The photos are courtesy of Janet Robinson, Scott's wonderful wife, who also photographed the book.)
