Benefit Show in NYC

Sometimes the best opportunities fall right into our lap. Carlos Lopez of Colombia reached out to us to say that he was bringing a group of young, underprivileged magicians to New York City on an amazing, eye-opening adventure.
Cofounder Joshua Jay had visited these kids when he performed in Colombia, and was struck by both their passion for magic, but also the barriers they faced due to circumstances beyond their control. In a few cases, the situation was dire, and sad.
Needless to say, we jumped at the chance to help. We enlisted New York mentalist Eli Bosnick and challenged him to create an action-packed day for these young ambassadors of magic. And what a day it turned out to be! It started with a trip to Tannen’s Magic Shop, where the Vanishing Inc. Magic Fund treated each child to a special collection of magic (thanks to Tannen’s for the generous assistance in this).
Then we took the kids to traditional, greasy New York Pizza. Then it was off to the world-famous Pit Theater. The Vanishing Inc Magic Fund secured this venue and promoted a show featuring all the young magicians. We wanted to make sure each child had the chance to perform on an Off-Broadway Stage, so they could go home saying, “I performed in New York.” And you know what? Those kids blew us away! They were funny, engaging, and overjoyed to be onstage in New York.
We always envisioned the Vanishing Inc Magic Fund to be used to empower young magicians to be better, and on this day, they made us so very proud.
